"If you are fascinated by technology and you love stretching your creative muscles, you won’t find a better course."

"Whereas many Multimedia courses choose either a design- based path or a technical path, MMTD at Brunel immerses you in the technology and demands that you use it creatively. The combination of an artistic and scientific understanding creates graduates who can talk the language of IT professionals and yet still excel in a creative environment. No other course addresses these disciplines with equal importance.

Multimedia at Brunel is a very well established course led by experts who know their subject well and are deeply passionate about multimedia. Studios are well-equipped including a new photography studio, sound studio and 3D research lab.

Lecturers at Brunel come from a wide variety of disciplines and opened my mind to new ideas from the science of consumer behaviour to the complexities of human-computer interaction. The way I go about design was challenged, my limits were stretched and with the support of the lecturers my skills and my confidence have grown enormously., the company Dave founded after graduation.

At Brunel you will be taught how to teach yourself – possibly the most valuable skill in such a rapidly evolving industry.

I spent my placement year with AstraZeneca Plc in Manchester. In the role I was given substantial responsibility to drive eMarketing projects throughout the company globally. Day-to-day I worked with colleagues in the US, Japan, Sweden and with partners outside the company such as the NHS. The year gave me the chance to apply my skills to a real business and I learned the commercial significance of multimedia. The experience put a lot of things into perspective for me and gave me the opportunities I needed to kickstart my career. I can’t emphasise enough how useful a placement can be, I would recommend it to anyone.

For my final year project I built an online marketplace for people to buy and sell digital photography for use in commercial projects. The site donates all its profits to the photographers and three charities – Oxfam, Care and Save the Children. Since launching the site it has been featured in several magazines and publications as well as on Radio Two. The site continues to raise money for the charities and for photographers in around 50 countries.

I’m now running a digital media company in Westminster which I co-founded with a friend from my course. We produce high-end flash games, viral marketing and online advertising for customers such as EA Games, Atom Enter-tainment and AstraZeneca.

Brunel is a well-equipped university with experienced staff who want you to succeed. If you are fascinated by technology and you love stretching your creative muscles, you won’t find a better course."
