Welcome to The London Institute For Enterprise PerformAnce Sustainability and Systems LIFEPASS.
LIFEPASS is an interdisciplinary research centre established in 2007 which brings together leading academics from the School of Engineering and Design and the Business School within Brunel University. It engages in integrated research projects seeking the development of tools, systems, equipment and leading edge processes to ultimately enable sustainable manufacture and enterprise performance.
Research is underpinned by the combination of systems engineering with basic science and, engineering design and experimentation with modelling and optimisation. The Institute’s research programme at its core aims at the understanding and the management of complexity in natural systems, engineering systems and the enterprise. This entails the complete analysis, understanding and design of large-scale, integrated and sustainable systems that comprise of interacting units such as nodes, components, sub-systems etc and operate across variable time and scale lengths. A novel partnering scheme with industry has been developed to facilitate knowledge and technology transfer.
